WWE is believed to have taken steps to avoid backstage issues with CM Punk

CM Punk is back in the fold with WWE and while things are said to be great so far behind the scenes with him, the company is apparently taking steps to make sure that things stay that way.

As previously noted, Punk was in good spirits backstage at Monday Night Raw in Nashville and he went out of his way to talk to several people backstage. It was said that Punk was on his best behavior. It is also worth noting that Punk went out of his way to spend time with fans at ringside before he got to the backstage area. He was out around the ringside area for so long that most of the arena had emptied by the time he got to the back.

Fightful Select reported there were some people in WWE who were told by higher-ups that Punk’s contract has a behavior clause. This makes sense since Punk butted heads with WWE management during his last run in the company. Additionally, there were reported issues backstage in AEW with The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, Jack Perry, Tony Khan, and others in the company.

As for Punk’s promo getting cut because of time issues, FIghtful reported that he appeared to be fine and there were no issues brought up by Punk in regards to that. Punk did not take shots at AEW during his promo. Fans on social media pointed out that if Punk is going to be facing Seth Rollins heading into WrestleMania, then the promo on Monday could have been the start of Punk turning heel.

Punk’s promo had some rolling their eyes, especially the line about being back home and being a changed person. It’s possible that Punk knew how people would take that so we’ll see if this is actually the start of the turn. Rollins is a face so logic would say that someone would have to turn heel before their match.
