When someone signs with WWE as a wrestler, the ultimate goal is to make it to the main roster. Over the last decade, only a certain few have made the jump straight to the main roster instead of being sent to NXT or, in past years, NXT UK.
The journey
Tyler Bate is now on the main roster after making his main roster debut during Friday’s episode of SmackDown, where he teamed with Butch against Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince & Kit Wilson) on the show.
After joining WWE in 2016, Bate was moved to the NXT UK brand, where he was the winner of the WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament, later becoming the inaugural United Kingdom Champion.
Around the time that the NXT UK brand was shut down following the news of the planned launch of NXT Europe, Bate was moved to the NXT brand in the United States.
Make it official
As recently as this past December, WWE had talk of moving Bate up to the main roster after not being used as of late on NXT TV. He’s considered to be one of the best wrestlers in the company.
As seen below, Bate is now officially a member of the SmackDown roster:
