WWE Still Has LA Knight Slotted as a Heel on SmackDown

LA Knight has been mega over with the fans, but despite the movement from them for WWE to give him a big push, he has yet to receive it.

Many fans thought he might get it by winning the Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder match earlier this month, but that win went to Damian Priest.

LA Knight vs. Sheamus vs. Cameron Grimes vs. Rey Mysterio has been booked for this Friday’s FS1 edition of SmackDown, where the winner will receive a future title bout with United States Champion Austin Theory, seemingly at SummerSlam.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted WWE still has him slotted as a heel on the SmackDown roster despite knowing he gets cheered.

“LA Knight is really over. It’s weird, they still slot him as a heel, but they know, and everyone knows he’s a babyface. They know he’s the really big flavor of the month thing, so you might as well take advantage of it.”
