AEW has moved to protect one of its newest creations. Following the debut of the Death’s Door match at AEW Forbidden Door 2026, the promotion has filed a trademark for the name “Death’s Door.”
The filing covers a range of wrestling-related goods and services, including “entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests,” “entertainment services in the nature of live professional wrestling performances,” and “entertainment services in the nature of production of professional wrestling programs and events.”
AEW Forbidden Door took place this past weekend at the SAP Center in San Jose, California. The trademark filing suggests the company has further plans for the Death’s Door concept after its introduction.
Looking ahead, AEW has announced that MJF will defend the World Title against Mark Briscoe this week on Dynamite. Briscoe won a guaranteed championship match against MJF when his team beat the champion’s team in a steel cage match at Forbidden Door. The bout will open the show.
