AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura got to throw down in a big way at New Japan’s Wrestle Kingdom 10 and ever since the two ended up on the WWE main roster together fans have been begging to see these two compete in a WWE ring. They’ve given us little teases and the two have been featured in tag team matches on the same side. But apart Money In The Bank, the two haven’t really locked horns.
The Phenomenal One was recently a guest on Edge and Christian’s E&C’s Pod Of Awesomeness when the subject was brought up about wanting to see a match against Nakamura. They really put over the spot at Money In The Bank where AJ and Shinsuke had their standoff and Styles admitted it was his idea.
“Well not to toot my own horn here, but that was my idea. Because I wanted to show Vince (McMahon) that there’s something special here. Something that people wanted to see. So let’s wait until we give it to them, and give them something bigger than just you know, a TV match. It was one of those cold chill moments that I got, standing in the middle of the ring looking through the ladder at Nakamura.”
So what do you guys think? Do you think there’s something special to an AJ Styles vs Shinsuke Nakamura match? Because we certainly do.
