On Tuesday’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez talked about Paul Heyman’s top guys on the Raw roster.
During the conversation, Meltzer noted that Andrade did not have the United States Championship taken away from him because Heyman is trying to build him up as a cornerstone of the brand and because it’s too early in the story for Andrade to drop the title.
Meltzer listed some of Heyman’s main guys that he is pushing. He listed Andrade, Aleister Black, Buddy Murphy, Humberto Carrillo and Ricochet as Heyman’s guys.
Meltzer added, “Andrade is one of the real key guys. Andrade, Aleister Black and McIntyre are the forefront of everyone that he’s trying to push.”
If you’ve been watching Raw since Heyman took over creative, you can definitely see that there has been a push to get the younger stars moved up the card.
Heyman’s philosophy in ECW was to accentuate the positives while hiding the negatives and he’s done that by showcasing wrestlers that are good in-ring workers while hiding the flaws of those who are not so great on the microphone.
There are others who are getting pushed because of Vince McMahon. I’m told that Erick Rowan is getting his push because McMahon likes him.
