Backstage News On The Delay Of WWE Women’s Intercontinental Title Tournament Finals

The WWE Women’s Intercontinental Title Tournament is coming to a close, but it won’t be happening as originally planned. The finals of the tournament were slated for the Raw on Netflix debut episode next week.

However, during Raw this week, it was announced the finals would happen on the January 13th episode instead. Dakota Kai vs. Lyra Valkyria will meet in the finals.

During the latest episode of WrestleVotes Radio on SportsKeeda’s Backstage Pass Patreon, it was noted that WWE shifted the date of the finals so it wouldn’t get lost in the shuffle of a loaded Raw on Netflix premiere.

“We are told that WWE shifted the finals of the Women’s Intercontinental Tournament off of the Netflix debut in order for the match to not get lost in the shuffle. It seems like WWE wants to get this title off and running in a big way, and felt as though having it mixed in with a show the size of Netflix premiere would not do that justice.”
