Backstage news on urine segment with Jeff Hardy and Sheamus on WWE SmackDown

Last month on an episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown, WWE did an angle where Sheamus wanted Jeff Hardy to take a urine drug test prior to their match at the Backlash pay-per-view event.

As seen in the angle, Hardy agreed to provide the urine sample before he proceeded to toss the urine in Sheamus’ face.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reports that the infamous segment was produced by D-Von Dudley and written by creative writer Zach Hyatt. Per the report, there was also a road writer involved, but the identity of this person is unknown.

It was added that the segment had originally called for the doctor to be named “Dr. Kirshenbuam,” but it was never referenced on commentary for whatever reason.

For longtime WWE fans, you might remember that WWE did a similar segment in 2006 with Shawn Michaels tossing urine in the face of Vince McMahon.

At the time of this latest version of the angle, it was reported that fans who watched on the west coast did not see the angle because FOX immediately cut into a commercial break before Hardy tossed the urine. For more on that, click here.
