Despite being advertised for the show, Charlotte Flair did not appear at last night’s WWE live event in Charlotte, North Carolina where she was scheduled to wrestle Rhea Ripley and Nikki A.S.H.
During the commentary for Triplemania XXIX last night, Hugo Savinovich sort of alluded that Charlotte could be close by when he said that he didn’t know if she was watching from home or backstage but added that he was sure that she was close to the action. Ric Flair accompanied his son-in-law Andrade to the ring for the AAA Mega Championship match against Kenny Omega. Click here for more on what happened during the match.
During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said that he heard a while back that she would be going to Mexico City with Andrade and her father.
Meltzer said, “I had been told sometime back that she was going to Mexico City. Obviously, she could not appear on the show [because] that would be a total violation of the contract but Ric Flair, who is a free agent, did appear on the show…so I presume that Ashley Flair was backstage as I was told she was going to be since she didn’t show up in Charlotte, her own hometown.”
If she told WWE ahead of time, then it means that they continued to falsely advertise her to sell tickets for last night’s show.
Lucha Libre expert/historian Rob Viper noted on Twitter that he heard rumors about another Flair (Charlotte) wanting to be part of Andrade’s entrance but the request was denied.
Heard a rumor another Flair wanted to be part of this entrance too and was strongly told no. 🤐

As previously noted, Meltzer said last week that Andrade wants to bring his family (including Charlotte) and friends into AEW. Ric Flair is believed to be headed to AEW soon.
