As was previously noted here on WrestlingNews.co, Roman Reigns has been pulled from all four previously-advertised June episodes of WWE Raw, and Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline is reporting the reason is tied to WWE’s June 27 Saudi Arabia premium live event.
Reigns has been removed from the June 1 Raw in Turin, June 8 in Paris, June 15 in Baltimore, and June 22 in London. He remains scheduled for the May 11 Raw in Knoxville, the night after WWE Backlash.
“Regarding Roman Reigns being pulled from June TV dates that were announced, the reason we were told is that he’s not going to be on the Saudi Arabia PPV and thus there was no reason to do the TVs building that show. If he loses the title next week, of course that would be a change and there will be more to the story. If he retains, that’s probably all it is. But Reigns is no longer scheduled for any television in June,” Meltzer wrote.
The Saudi Arabia premium live event is Night of Champions, which WWE confirmed on April 23 will return to Kingdom Arena in Riyadh on Saturday, June 27. It is WWE’s second event of the year in Saudi Arabia, after Royal Rumble in late January.
In the WrestleMania 42 Night Two post-show following his win over CM Punk, Reigns said he would not be a part-timer during his reign as World Heavyweight Champion and would be appearing throughout the summer.
Reigns defends the World Heavyweight Championship against Jacob Fatu at WWE Backlash on Saturday, May 9 from Benchmark International Arena in Tampa, Florida.
