Backstage News On WWE’s Plans For Women’s Tag Team Titles After Liv Morgan’s Injury

WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Liv Morgan is set for an extended period away from the ring. Following a legitimate shoulder injury suffered on the June 16 episode of Monday Night Raw, Morgan is expected to undergo surgery.

The injury occurred moments into her match with Kairi Sane, forcing an abrupt stop to the contest. In an update, PWInsider.com reports that due to the upcoming procedure, Morgan will be off television for the foreseeable future.

“With her surgery pending, multiple WWE sources have confirmed to PWInsider.com that that Liv Morgan has been pulled from the road and won’t be making any appearances live on WWE programming in the near future,” the report stated.

This development immediately raised questions about the status of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship, which Morgan currently holds with Raquel Rodriguez. Typically, a long-term injury to a champion would result in the title being vacated.

However, the report indicates WWE is taking a different approach this time.

“We are told a plan has been made for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles and they are NOT expected to be vacated as of this morning,” PWInsider added.
