Becky Lynch says that when she imagines who WWE’s biggest stars will be, she is not picturing the men.
Speaking to the Female Quotient, Lynch was asked about the growth of the women’s division and where it goes next. She started with what has already been done.
“I’m so proud of the women’s division in WWE. Totally changed the game. At one point, I don’t think anybody would’ve thought that we would’ve had Intercontinental Titles, Tag Titles, US Titles, would main event WrestleMania. We’ve done it all.”
She said she does not spend much time dwelling on it.
“I don’t really sit back and think about what we’ve done because I’m always like, where are we going? Let’s keep going. Let’s keep moving.”
Then came the part that will travel.
“I feel very optimistic about where we’re going in the future because we have incredibly talented women that are doing amazing stuff.”
“When I look at the future of WWE and I think of the main eventers who are going to be our biggest stars, most of the time, I don’t think of the men, I think of the women.”
WWE’s women’s division now has its own Intercontinental, tag team and United States championships alongside its two world titles, and the women’s match closed WrestleMania in 2019 with Lynch herself in it.
The division has two title matches at SummerSlam this weekend, with Liv Morgan defending the Women’s World Championship against IYO SKY on Night One, and a five-way ladder match on Night Two to crown an interim WWE Women’s Champion with Rhea Ripley injured.
