Becky Lynch returned to WWE television on Monday’s Raw from Des Moines and made it clear she is coming for Liv Morgan and the Women’s World Championship.
The segment came out of Sol Ruca against Roxanne Perez. Morgan tripped Ruca on the ropes, the referee caught it and threw the match out, and Judgment Day laid Ruca out afterward. Lynch’s music hit to a loud reaction.
Raquel Rodriguez assumed Lynch had come back for her. Rodriguez won the Women’s Intercontinental Championship on July 27, a title Lynch was the first holder of and lost to Ruca at Clash in Italy in May. Lynch told her she had already made that championship what it is, and that her business was with Morgan.
She went after Morgan’s reign directly, calling it the worst of all time and saying she intended to make sure Morgan did not go another hundred days without defending. Morgan won the title from Stephanie Vaquer on night one of WrestleMania 42 in April and did not make a televised defense until SummerSlam on Saturday, where she beat IYO SKY.
Morgan told Lynch to go home and be a mother. Lynch laughed in her face and kept going, following Judgment Day up the ramp with the microphone. One of her jabs was that Morgan is not the greatest women’s champion in her own group, or the greatest one to have been involved with Dominik Mysterio, both of which point at Rhea Ripley.
Ripley has been out since June with a meniscus injury. Chelsea Green won the Interim WWE Women’s Championship in a ladder match at SummerSlam on Sunday, with a unification match to follow once Ripley is cleared.
Judgment Day did not get to the back. Vaquer came out and went straight at them, beating Morgan down while Lynch sat on the turnbuckle and watched. It is Vaquer’s first appearance since losing the title at WrestleMania, having been out injured since.
Once the ring cleared, Lynch and Vaquer stood facing each other. Nothing came of it, and no match has been announced.
Lynch had been off television since June 8, when she lost a first-round Queen of the Ring match. No explanation for the absence was given on air.
