Big name could return at tonight’s WWE Royal Rumble to set something up at Saudi Arabia event

There’s a possibility that WWE Hall of Famer Sting could appear at tonight’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view event.

According to a report by Pwinsider.com, there’s been a lot of talk about Sting being a major part of the next WWE event in Saudi Arabia on February 27th where he could make a return to in-ring action.

It was noted in the report that the current creative that was pitched did not involve The Undertaker and that the deal wasn’t 100% done. In fact, the conversations had proceeded so far that some believe Sting will be in Houston, Texas for tonight’s show in order to get the ball rolling.

With Sting living in Dallas, Texas, it’s only a few hours to drive from his home to Houston. Thus, he could easily make a surprise appearance. With anything in WWE, nothing is set in stone but something to keep an eye out for.

The show in Saudi Arabia is close to WrestleMania and WWE needs something big for the show due to the financial commitment that they receive.

For years, Sting has talked about wanting to wrestle The Undertaker. However, Sting has spinal stenosis. Since his last match in 2015 the belief is that he wouldn’t get cleared to wrestle again.

That could change though. Time will tell.
