Booker T says Adam Cole should stay with WWE

On the latest “Hall Of Fame” podcast, WWE Hall Of Famer Booker T had a lot to say about the Adam Cole rumors. Cole met with Vince McMahon backstage at SmackDown but, at this point, it’s not known if he intends to stay with WWE or go elsewhere.

Here is what Booker T said about Cole:

Booker thinks that Cole should stay with WWE:

“I don’t know if he’s going to be a free agent or anything like that, but I can’t sit here and say, ‘He wants out.’ I know Adam Cole worked his a** off for a lot of years to get to WWE. I do know that. I do know when he finally got there, Adam Cole was like, ‘I’m here. I’m doing it.’ I watch Adam Cole and what he’s doing down in NXT, and he’s doing a hell of a job. He’s a guy that has a very, very bright future. Let’s just say that. One thing that he needs to know is that AEW is going to be there for him, so you better get what you need to get out of this for as long as you possibly can, and then if something happens, then you think about what comes next. I think Adam Cole worked a hell of a long time to get to that point, and to just throw it all away because of what you hear on social media, I just don’t think that would be smart.”

Booker T said AEW can’t just sign talent without having plans for them:

“I don’t think you should be too aggressive to go out of your way to just try to sign talent. I think you have to be thinking about the direction and the infrastructure of your show in order to be successful. The only reason why I say that is because I was a part of WCW. I saw guys sitting at home that were making $250,000 a year, and they didn’t work more than six matches a year. They were in no angles, no programs, or anything. For me to have guys sitting on the roster is not the route I want to go. I know they are starting this new show, Rampage. I need everybody’s a** working, no days off. I need to build my talent roster, that way if Adam Cole were to become a free agent, can I use him on my team? Of course, I could, but am I aggressively going to go after Adam Cole and say, ‘Hey, I have a 2 million dollar contract for you, just sign?’ I’m not going to go that route unless I want to be the next WCW.”
