Braun Strowman is one of Monday Night RAW’s top attractions.
“The Monster Among Men” currently holds the Money In The Bank (MITB) briefcase, and that should strike fear into the hearts of both Roman Reigns and Brock Lensar – who will go one-on-one for the WWE Universal Title at SummerSlam later this month. In fact, many expect Strowman to cash-in on the winner of the match and leave the Barclays Center as WWE Universal Champion. However, Strowman must first get past Kevin Owens at “The Biggest Party Of The Summer.”
He’ll put his briefcase on the line against “KO” at SummerSlam in a singles match. Should he lose by any means necessary he will forfeit the MITB contract to his rival. Strowman is one of many products of WWE’s developmental program, NXT.
The program has flourished in recent years and produced some of the WWE’s biggest stars such as Strowman, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, Bray Wyatt and many more. Oftentimes when NXT holds their TakeOver events on the same weekend as a big main roster pay-per-view (PPV), they more often than not steal the show. The wrestling on the NXT brand is extremely high-quality and some suggest they outshine the main roster.
With stars such as Johnny Gargano, Aleister Black and Tommaso Ciampa currently on the NXT brand, it’s hard to deny. Strowman was recently asked for his thoughts on NXT in an interview with SPN Action. In regards to the notion that NXT is outshining the main roster, Strowman said he doesn’t see anything outshining what’s going on on the main roster right now:
“You know it’s hard to tell,” Strowman said. “Because we’re so studded right now on the main roster that there’s a lot of talented athletes in NXT, but what they have down there right now, I don’t see anything outshining [what] we have on the main roster. Everybody’s trying to make it through a hole this big. Everybody’s in a huge funnel in developmental. I was in it at one point and you’re just swirling around trying to get through that tiny hole.”
"I gave KO a taste of his own medicine"
