Brian Knobs is back in the hospital as he continues to battle a severe infection. The legendary member of The Nasty Boys has faced a series of ailments stemming from a foot injury sustained last year, which included an infection that nearly resulted in an amputation.
Knobs recently posted a video update thanking those who have supported him, specifically mentioning the Cauliflower Alley Club. He disclosed that he has developed another infection, necessitating his return to the hospital for treatment.
The health scare is the latest in a string of hardships for the 60-year-old. Last March, a GoFundMe campaign was launched to assist with Knobs’ finances following the devastation to his home caused by Hurricane Milton. The campaign description details the dire situation Knobs and his family have been navigating.
“Brian Knobs, a beloved wrestling legend, is facing the toughest fight of his life. In just a few short months, he has gone from losing everything due to Hurricane Milton to now battling a life-threatening infection that could lead to the amputation of his foot,” the campaign states. “To make matters even more challenging, Brian had to cancel his appearance on the Chris Jericho Cruise back in January and the upcoming European cruise, as well as several other major commitments, making the situation even worse for him financially.”
The loss of his home has compounded the difficulty of his recovery. With no permanent residence, Knobs has been forced to manage his rehabilitation from temporary housing.
“Because they lost their home due to Hurricane Milton, Brian and his wife have been living in hotel room to hotel room, and now that Brian is in rehab, his wife is left to stay in a hotel by herself, making this situation even more heartbreaking and urgent,” the description continued.
Knobs began his career in the AWA before working for all the major promotions in the 1990s. Alongside his partner Jerry Sags, he formed The Nasty Boys, a team that captured tag team gold in both the WWF and WCW. The duo also toured extensively with NJPW and AJPW during their prime.
The GoFundMe campaign is currently accepting donations with a goal of raising $50,000 to help cover medical and living expenses. You can donate here. We wish him a speedy recovery.
