Brie Bella Says Bryan Danielson’s Retirement Is What Let Her Wrestle Again

Brie Bella is wrestling again because her husband stopped.

Speaking on the Nikki and Brie Show, Bella described the arrangement she and Bryan Danielson have landed on since his retirement from full-time competition, and was direct about what it opened up for her.

“I’m actually going through that right now, where my husband retired, which gave me the opportunity to go back and wrestle, and he’s like Mister Pinterest mom.”

She said the domestic side has gone better than she expected.

“I’m like, damn, all right, like making little tree snacks and like homemade meatballs and gluten free chicken fingers. And he’s like thriving in it. Like he’s loving it, which is so nice, because you know you never know for men if all of a sudden they become Mr. Mom. Like you never just know how they’ll handle it. And he’s like nailing it.”

The results have been measurable.

“I mean, my kids went up a couple grades in reading. Their math is like out of control. Where I was like, oh s***, I didn’t do that. Good job.”

Danielson wrestled his last full-time match at AEW WrestleDream in October 2024. Bella returned to WWE this year and held the Women’s Tag Team Championship with Paige before Fatal Influence took the titles from them.

She teams with Paige and her sister Nikki Bella against Fatal Influence at SummerSlam this weekend at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.
