Brock Rechsteiner, the son of WWE Hall of Famer Scott Steiner, has signed with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent. The team announced the signing on May 12, 2026.
The 6’2″, 225-pound wide receiver had earlier attended the Tennessee Titans’ rookie minicamp this spring but was not signed there. The Saints brought him in on a tryout basis at their own rookie minicamp the previous weekend and signed him to the 90-man offseason roster.
Rechsteiner played four seasons at Jacksonville State from 2022 through 2025. In 40 games he caught 53 passes for 629 yards and seven touchdowns. His best season was 2025, with 36 catches for 383 yards and five touchdowns. The Woodstock, Georgia native reportedly ran a 4.48-second 40-yard dash during the pre-draft process.
Rechsteiner signed an NIL deal with WWE through the company’s Next In Line program in 2025 and plans to pursue a wrestling career once his football career ends.
“I want to pursue football as long as I can, play as long as I can,” Rechsteiner said at Saints rookie minicamp. “But once I’m done, I’ll get into wrestling too.”
He has also already given thought to a ring name. “Hopefully I’ll just be Brock Steiner,” he said. “We’ll see.”
His cousin Bronson Rechsteiner, who currently wrestles in WWE as Bron Breakker, took a similar path. Bron played football at Kennesaw State and signed with the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent fullback in 2020 before being released and turning to wrestling.
Scott Steiner and his brother Rick Steiner were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame together in 2022 as The Steiner Brothers.
Rechsteiner joins a Saints receiver room that includes Chris Olave, first-round pick Jordyn Tyson, fourth-round pick Bryce Lance, and sixth-round pick Barion Brown.
