Bully Ray: ‘If You Don’t Think Kendal Grey Is The Future, You’re Wrong’

Bully Ray came away thoroughly impressed with Kendal Grey after her latest NXT victory, going so far as to declare her the future of women’s wrestling.

Speaking on Busted Open After Dark, the ECW legend reacted to Grey’s title defense win over Nattie on the latest episode of NXT, and he did not mince words about where he believes she is headed.

“If you don’t think Kendal Grey is the future, you’re wrong,” Bully said. He praised the bout itself as well, noting it accomplished what it needed to. “I liked the match. I thought it was a good match. I thought it was what it needed to be for TV tonight.”

For Bully, the significance of the win went beyond just another successful defense. “I know that she’s currently the NXT Women’s Champion, but I would venture to say that tonight was the biggest win of Kendal Grey’s career,” he said.

Bully was especially struck by the caliber of opponent Grey overcame, emphasizing that she beat the most formidable version of the veteran.

“She beat Nattie Neidhart. She beat Nattie, she didn’t beat Natalya,” Bully explained. “She beat the version of Nattie that’s been kicking chicks’ ass left and right. She beat the Nattie that defeated Jaida Parker. She beat the Nattie that prides herself on humbling women.”

The Hall of Famer sees a bright road ahead for the NXT Women’s Champion. “It’s a big win for Kendal, something that she can pound her chest and stand proud about,” Bully said. “I see tremendous potential in this woman.”
