Tommy Dreamer had high praise for Seth Rollins’ promo on Raw, as well as the electric Raw debut of LA Knight.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Dreamer lauded Rollins’ emotional, truthful promo about his history with Roman Reigns ahead of their SummerSlam clash. He was struck by Rollins’ willingness to admit he had long been in Reigns’ shadow. “When he basically says, ‘I knew I’d be second fiddle to Roman,’ that is hard for anyone to swallow,” Dreamer said. He compared the promo to the legendary work of Dusty Rhodes. “It gave me hard times vibes.”
The night also featured the arrival of LA Knight, whose debut immediately made an impact. “An electric debut,” Dreamer said, describing how Knight entertained the crowd during a back-and-forth with Rollins. “He had the people, man.”
Things took a chaotic turn from there. Dreamer recounted how Jimmy Uso super kicked Knight out of nowhere, drawing boos from the crowd, before Jacob Fatu later ambushed Knight backstage.
Dreamer admitted the shifting allegiances made for a wonky but compelling dynamic. “It’s wonky, but it’s really, really star power, and I think that’s really what people are caring about right now,” he said.
