Chelsea Green Addresses WWE SmackDown Appearance Despite Being Injured

Chelsea Green made a surprise appearance on the February 13 episode of SmackDown in Dallas, Texas, addressing her recent injury for the first time on television. Accompanied by Alba Fyre, who was pushing her in a wheelchair, Green interrupted a backstage exchange between Tiffany Stratton and Jordynne Grace.

Green, wearing a walking boot, blamed Stratton for her current condition. Following the broadcast, she took to social media to comment on her appearance and status. “HAD to fly to #Smackdown to make sure everyone at @WWE is aware that I am still gorg even with a boot on,” Green wrote.

Injury Confirmation

The appearance follows a period of uncertainty regarding the severity of Green’s injury. She was injured during a triple-threat Elimination Chamber qualifying match on the February 6 episode of SmackDown against Tiffany Stratton and Lash Legend. While early reports suggested she might have escaped with a significant sprain, Green later provided a definitive update.

Taking to social media on February 11, Green shared a newspaper graphic with a headline that read, “Ankle Breaks; Spirit Prevails.” The post included a photo of an X-ray, confirming that she had suffered a broken ankle.

Impact on Championship Status

She was forced to miss a scheduled defense of the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championship on February 7. While she appeared via FaceTime during that broadcast, her partner Ethan Page was forced to team with a replacement, La Hiedra. The duo ultimately lost the match, ending Green and Page’s reign as champions.

WWE has not yet provided an official timetable for Green’s return to the ring. A fractured ankle typically requires a recovery period ranging from several weeks to months, leaving her status for WrestleMania 42 in doubt.
