Apparently, the old “never say never” saying in wrestling certainly applies to Chris Jericho’s status with Impact Wrestling. Just a few months ago, Jericho said that he would not work for any company in the United States because he didn’t want to compete against Vince McMahon and WWE. It’s the same reason why he didn’t work on the New Japan Pro Wrestling shows in California.
However, he has softened his stance and as many of you saw on his Twitter timeline, he has hinted that he would be open to working with Impact. Keep in mind that his good friends Don Callis and Scott D’Amore are in charge and Jericho is in regular contact with Callis.
In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it was noted that nobody is saying anything but the belief within the business is that Jericho is destined to work with Impact. It was Jericho who told Anthem CEO Leonard Asper that he should hire Callis and put him with D’Amore in charge of the company because the previous owners were running a sinking ship.
It should be noted that there is already a working relationship with Jericho and Impact. Several Impact Wrestling stars are booked for his cruise in October including Sami Callihan, Brian Cage, and LAX. Impact is featured prominently on the Chris Jericho Cruise website.
