In a recent interview with Deadline.com following the intense main event of WrestleMania 41, CM Punk addressed the shocking betrayal by Paul Heyman and the brutal chair shot he took during the match.
Punk, visibly still reeling from the events, offered a perspective on which inflicted more damage, both physically and emotionally.
When directly asked, “What would you say hurt more, getting hit by the chair or Paul Heyman’s betrayal?”, Punk didn’t hesitate in his response, drawing upon their extensive history. “Heyman has betrayed me before. We’ve been friends for a very long time, and friends fight. Since he’s betrayed me before, he knows how this plays out. He knows there’s receipts coming for him, too.”
Expanding on the emotional impact, Punk elaborated, “The betrayal and the mental pain, I think, are worse than the physical. I almost wish he would’ve done all that and stuck with Roman, because going with Seth was the real pain. But you know what? Seth needs him.”
It’s unclear when Punk will be back on TV.
