Cody Rhodes finally finished his story at WWE WrestleMania XL a week ago.
The Rock & Roman Reigns vs. Rhodes & Seth Rollins was the WWE WrestleMania 40 headliner of night one, where the heels went over only for the next night to have Rhodes win the Undisputed WWE Universal Title from Reigns.
The following night on Raw, Rock and Rhodes did a promo segment where Rock noted that he wanted the WWE Title but had to go away for a while. However, when he returns, he will be coming after Rhodes. It’s still unclear when that match will happen.
Rhodes will defend his title for the first time since winning it against the winner of LA Knight vs. AJ Styles next week on SmackDown, presumably at the Backlash France PLE next month.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that the win made Rhodes the only wrestler in history to have held the WWE, NWA, and ROH World Titles.
