Cody Rhodes has named his five greatest WrestleMania performers in WWE history, and he expects some pushback for at least one omission.
Appearing on ESPN’s First Take as part of his WrestleMania 42 media tour, Rhodes was asked to rank the top five performers in WrestleMania history based solely on their performance at the event. He included two of his current-day peers alongside three legends. Rhodes’ list:
- Hulk Hogan
- Roman Reigns
- Shawn Michaels
- Randy Savage
- Charlotte Flair
Rhodes acknowledged that leaving Steve Austin off the list would generate criticism. Rhodes also addressed his own omission, saying he hopes his numbers will one day earn him a spot on someone else’s ranking.
He noted that headlining WrestleMania is the most difficult achievement in WWE, and he is heading into his fifth main event at the show if both matches from WrestleMania 40 are counted. Roman Reigns was involved in three of those bouts.
Rhodes defends the Undisputed WWE Championship against Randy Orton in the night one main event of WrestleMania 42 on Saturday, April 18 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. First Take will be broadcasting live from Allegiant Stadium on Friday ahead of the event.
