Cody Rhodes: ‘Time Management’ On The Main Roster Is ‘Terrifying’

Cody Rhodes has highlighted a crucial skill that he believes NXT call-ups aren’t always prepared for when they arrive on Raw and SmackDown: time management.

Speaking on his show, “What Do You Wanna Talk About?”, Rhodes explained that the behind-the-scenes pace of the main roster can be overwhelming for newcomers. “One of my things that I know is not taught necessarily when they come up can be time management, when it comes to how SmackDown and Raw work. Because it is terrifying,” Rhodes said.

He went on to describe the whirlwind of competing demands that hit talent the moment they arrive at the building. “You get there and it’s, ‘Oh, we’re doing your walk in 30 minutes.’ And as soon as your walk’s done, ‘Can you be at the ring, you’re late for your rehearsal?’ You booked the walk, how am I late for the rehearsal?” Rhodes said.

The former WWE Champion stressed that the production crew is simply doing its job, even if the scheduling can feel impossible. “They have a job to do so you can’t get mad at them, but then also you’re trying to focus on the content,” he said. “I’m gonna deliver this unbelievable promo, I’m gonna do something physically impressive.”

Rhodes offered the insight while praising a rising star for handling the adjustment well, noting that the ultimate goal is to feel ready rather than to simply survive. “That’s where I’ve seen, you’re excelling at this so far in what you’ve done. It’s hard to get it all to where you don’t wanna feel like you overcame, you wanna feel fully prepared,” he said.
