Demolition’s WWE Legends Contract Is For Six Years

WWE Hall of Fame hopefuls Demolition (Ax and Smash) have embarked on a significant new chapter with WWE, having signed multi-year Legends contracts. Bill Eadie (Ax), speaking on the “Wrestling Life with Ben Veal” podcast alongside Barry Darsow (Smash), elaborated on the length of the deal and the wide array of projects it encompasses, including diverse action figure lines.

The conversation shed light on how the agreement came to fruition and what it means for the iconic tag team’s legacy. Eadie explained the genesis of the deal and its extensive nature in a detailed account:

“Well, we were approached by a friend of ours, and a number of guys. Koko B. Ware was one of them, Tito Santana. They had told us that they had just been approached and made an appearance. And then we got a call from the office, and they were discussing various things, signing the contract, which would include making some appearances, of course, action figures, various action figures, not only Demolition, but Repo Man and Krusher Khrushchev and Masked Superstar and The Machines. So I mean, the way they presented it, it sounded interesting. Sounded that could possibly very lucrative for us [to] make some appearances and also possible DVDs and some other things.”

He further clarified the significant duration of their new commitment to WWE and their current stance on what the future holds:

“So right now, we’re at a wait and see they did announce some action figures coming out when we were at WrestleCon, which got a very positive response. So, you know, we got we signed a contract over multiple years. I believe it was six years. So we’ll see what the next six years or five and a half years leads to.”

The positive fan reaction to new Demolition action figures announced at WrestleCon earlier in the year, as mentioned by Eadie, likely reinforced WWE’s decision to invest in a comprehensive deal with the legendary tag team.

This agreement occurs in the context of what Demolition described as a changed, more positive atmosphere within WWE towards its alumni, making their re-engagement with the company a “heartwarming” experience where they felt “brought back into the family again.”

As Demolition embarks on this extended partnership with WWE, fans can anticipate a continued celebration of their impactful careers, with new collectibles and potentially more appearances on the horizon. The duo also recently launched their own “Demo Pod” podcast, allowing them to connect directly with their fanbase.
