Donovan Dijak has offered a revealing look into how WWE quietly evaluates the mindset of performers it has significant plans for, disclosing that certain match assignments are used as silent tests of a wrestler’s attitude before major investment is made in them.
Dijak revealed this on X in response to a post highlighting Oba Femi’s dominant squash wins on NXT against talent no longer with the company, linking those results to a broader internal evaluation process.
“I don’t even know if this is true or not, but it wouldn’t surprise me. WWE will often quietly test wrestlers to see if they have an attitude problem, especially if they have big plans in store. Oba obviously passed with flying colors. I never heard anything even remotely negative and he was a pleasure to work with,” Dijak wrote.
Femi’s main roster arrival has been handled as a major investment since he transitioned from NXT this year after four years on the developmental brand. He defeated Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 42 in his first major premium live event match, and has since been running weekly open challenges on Raw.
Otis was the most recent challenger, falling to Femi within minutes on the May 5 edition of the show. Most recently on Raw, Adam Pearce announced there were no challengers willing to step up, leading Femi to make an example of Angel Garza and Humberto Carillo.
