For the first time ever, WWE SmackDown aired two matches from the Rolling Loud Festival in Miami, Florida.
In the first match, The Street Profits defeated Alpha Academy. In the second match, SmackDown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair retained her title against Carmella.
The wrestlers put in the effort but it was clear that the crowd in Miami was not there to see professional wrestling. It came across on TV like the people at the festival were not reacting to anything and did not know what they were watching.
WWE tried to cover it with piped in noise and the announcers (mostly Pat McAfee) tried to put it over like the crowd was going ecstatic for the action in the ring.
The reaction on social media told the story with many fans urging WWE to never do this again.
