Finn Balor defends Roman Reigns amongst criticism from WWE fans

Last night, Roman Reigns worked with Finn Balor in the main event of Monday Night RAW. “The Big Dog” made his first-ever Universal Title defense just 24 hours after defeating Brock Lesnar for the coveted strap at SummerSlam.

Reigns kicked off the show and gave Balor the rematch he never received for the Universal Title several years ago. When they main evented RAW later on that night, Reigns was able to put the Irishman away with a Spear. The pair have shown nothing but respect for one another on WWE TV throughout the years. That respect extends after the cameras stop rolling, it seems. Balor recently did an interview with Sky Sports.

During their conversation, Balor was asked for his thoughts on the negative reaction and criticism that Reigns gets from WWE fans. “The Demon King” jumped to the Universal Champion’s defense by saying the following:

“I don’t get it, He’s probably one of the hardest working people in WWE, he looks great, he’s professional, a great talker and behind everything, a great person.”

“He’s great behind the scenes, he will help you with anything you want and he’s always polite. He was great to me when I first came into WWE and he continues to help me today. I can’t speak of anything but greatness for Roman Reigns, he’s one of the all-time greats.

“I think it’s monkey do as monkey see and people are easily led. They might read what one person has written in a newsletter, decide that person’s right, and then jump on the bandwagon. That’s what’s happened with Roman. People are very fickle – I remember when The Shield were doing their thing and everyone was behind Roman; he was the coolest guy in The Shield. Opinions change in this business and they forget the past but Roman ain’t sweating it.”
