Former TNA/GFW star Sonjay Dutt was at the WWE Performance Center this past week in a guest role. Dutt helped produce some of the live events for NXT and he did some training with the new recruits. The guest trainer role is meant to seek out potential candidates that they may want to hire. Adam Pearce, for example, had several stints as a guest trainer before getting signed full-time.
Dutt had been Jeff Jarrett’s right-hand man in Global Force Wrestling and, along with being an in-ring performer, wore many hats backstage with travel, agent work, etc. He was universally liked by everyone and has a good mind for the business. He would be a good pick up by WWE if they chose to offer him a full-time deal.
Dave Meltzer noted that he had talks with ROH in December and there was even talk about him taking over Steve Corino’s old role on commentary. Jarrett has also talked to him about helping out in TNA.
