Wesley Blake wrestled for the first time in three years on Tuesday, working a dark segment before the NXT taping at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando. Blake faced Kale Dixon, who spent the build-up taunting him.

Blake has been on WWE’s staff since April 2024, working as a producer on NXT and a coach at the Performance Center. His last match before this was in 2023, teaming with Steve Maclin at West Coast Pro.
He and Maclin, then working as Steve Cutler, were two-thirds of the Forgotten Sons alongside Jaxson Ryker. The group came together in NXT and moved to SmackDown in 2020. Blake was released on April 15, 2021, which makes Tuesday his first match inside a WWE ring in more than five years.
Before that, he was best known as one half of the team with Buddy Murphy, now working as Buddy Matthews in AEW. Managed by Alexa Bliss, the pair held the NXT Tag Team Championship.
Blake debuted in 2011 on the Florida independent circuit, working most often for Dory Funk Jr.’s Funking Conservatory, and signed with WWE in 2013.
Nothing has been announced regarding any further matches. Dark segments of this kind are routine before television tapings and are not broadcast.
