Injured WWE Star Appeared At Live Event In Japan

WWE returned to Japan this week for a house show tour. WWE was in Osaka today before holding two more shows on July 26th and 27th for the house shows.

On the Okaka card, WWE had advertised WWE Champion Cody Rhodes vs. Shinsuke Nakamura vs. AJ Styles, World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest vs. Jey Uso, Bianca Belair, Jade Cargill, and Meiko Satomura vs. Iyo Sky, Kairi Sane, and Dakota Kai.

Also advertised were Asuka, Rey Mysterio, Liv Morgan, Bayley, Gunther, Sami Zayn, The Bloodline, Finn Balor & JD McDonagh, LA Knight, Kevin Owens, and more. Asuka is currently sidelined with a knee injury.

The injury stemmed from a March episode of SmackDown, where she was seen limping. She did work matches after that, including at Backlash France in April, losing the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles to Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill. She later announced she was taking a break due to the knee injury.

Asuka was with the rest of Damage CTRL and cut a promo at the show. It should be noted that she was spotted without crutches. However, there’s still no word on when she will return to in-ring action.
