It looks like WWE could be getting one star back from the sidelines who has been out of in-ring action for the last several months. It also comes at an interesting time for a storyline they may be part of.
The star
After departing from WWE, Kai returned to the company at the 2022 SummerSlam, where she was paired with Bayley and IYO SKY as part of Damage CTRL. They went on an incredible run, including Kai and SKY holding the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships on several occasions.
Kai suffered a torn ACL on the May 12 edition of SmackDown in a tag team match while working with Bayley against Raquel Rodriguez & Liv Morgan for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles.

Kai has since been on television for the last few months but not wrestling as the faction continues to grow. The group recently turned on Bayley on last week’s SmackDown after Bayley found out they had been talking badly about her in Japanese.
Ironically, Kai was not part of the segment, leading to speculation she may have been the one to have told Bayley what they were saying. Kai posted this teaser on Instagram, noting she was getting closer to making an in-ring return:
