Jacob Fatu Segment And New Match Announced For WWE SmackDown

Two more names have been added to tonight’s WWE SmackDown, with Jacob Fatu set to open the show and Damian Priest booked against Talla Tonga in singles action.

Fatu’s appearance comes one night before his World Heavyweight Championship challenge against Roman Reigns at Backlash in Tampa, making tonight’s SmackDown his final stop before the biggest match of his WWE career to date. Priest, one-half of the WWE Tag Team Champions alongside R-Truth, faces Talla Tonga.

Also confirmed for tonight’s show, Gunther will deliver an in-ring promo following his attack on Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, with Dave Meltzer reporting this week that WWE has shot material to set up a Rhodes versus Gunther program for an upcoming premium live event.

The six-woman tag team match pitting Rhea Ripley, Charlotte Flair, and Alexa Bliss against Fatal Influence and Tiffany Stratton’s first Women’s United States Championship defense against Kiana James round out the announced in-ring action. The Gingerbread Man funeral segment involving Sami Zayn is also set to take place, building toward his United States Championship rematch with Trick Williams at Backlash.
