JBL: “I Got Dry Humped By The Fridge, William Perry, Not Real Proud Of That”

WrestleMania week is known for its spectacle and celebrations, but few after-party stories likely top the one WWE Hall of Famer JBL shared on the “Something To Wrestle” podcast. When asked by Conrad Thompson for his best WrestleMania after-party moment, JBL didn’t miss a beat.

“Oh yeah, dancing with Booker T,” JBL began, before adding a bizarre twist. “Yeah, I got dry humped by the fridge. William Perry, not real proud of that, but I did… true story.”

He elaborated on the impromptu dance-off challenge he issued to Booker T and his wife, Sharmell, alongside his own wife, Meredith. “So me and my wife challenged Booker and Sharmell to a dance off,” JBL recounted. “And so Sharmell is, of course, the only one that can really dance out of all four of us, but we had a dance off.”

The scene apparently descended into glorious chaos. “Booker was popping and locking and doing all this stuff,” JBL described. “I thought I was better than him because I was doing like this break dancing stuff… And then William Perry gets out there and somehow pulls his hat off. He’s like humping me, and for some reason, I’m not sure why, but, but he’s the fridge, so it’s okay.”

Perhaps the most stunning moment involved JBL’s wife, Meredith, a high-powered finance executive. “My wife did like the worm across the ground,” JBL revealed. “The whole party shut down… She was just on the cover of Fortune magazine at this time… listed as one of the most 100 most important people in the world, and she was doing the worm at a WrestleMania party across the dance floor.”

The spectacle even captured the attention of WWE’s top brass, albeit briefly. “You could see Lynn, Linda, Linda and Vince standing on chairs, watching,” JBL recalled. “Until we called for Vince to come out there. Then they both disappeared because they didn’t want to get out there.”

The dance-off ended inconclusively (“I think we ended up in a draw”), but the memory remains vivid for JBL, encapsulating the unpredictable fun of WrestleMania celebrations, complete with breakdancing, wrestling legends, NFL icons, and Fortune 500 executives doing the worm.
