WWE Hall Of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler was interviewed by Cerrito Live to talk about his BBQ restaurant, the Royal Rumble, the return of the King’s Court, what led to his cardiac arrest a few years ago, and more.
Lawler talked about the angle from last week’s Smackdown Live when Dolph Ziggler kicked him in the chest. Lawler said that he walked backstage and he saw everyone laughing and he didn’t know why because it was a serious angle. As it turns out, they were rewinding the footage several times so they could see JBL trip as he tried to make his way to the ring.
Lawler revealed that he has signed a new one-year contract with the company and he’s happy with the deal. I guess that explains why he will be calling the Royal Rumble match next weekend. Lawler called it an “open-ended” contract but he didn’t go into details on what he would be doing with WWE after the Rumble.
