During the final segment of last night’s go-home edition of WWE SmackDown before Money in the Bank, John Cena directly addressed crowd chants for the recently released R-Truth, incorporating them into his promo to further his current heel persona. After laying out World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso and Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes alongside Logan Paul, Cena confronted the Bakersfield audience.
As fans chanted “We want Truth” in support of R-Truth (Ron Killings), whose WWE release was announced on June 1, 2025, John Cena took a microphone. He called the fans in attendance “hypocrites” for their chants.
Cena then delivered a pointed line, a clear play on words referencing the chants and the famous movie quote: “You can’t handle the truth!” This statement was part of a larger promo where Cena reiterated his mission to disrupt the fans’ vision of WWE.
The segment concluded with Cena and Logan Paul standing tall over the fallen Rhodes and Uso, holding their respective championship belts. This final confrontation served as the last major angle before the four men meet in a tag team match at tonight’s Money in the Bank premium live event.
