Killer Kross has become the latest wrestler to publicly share interest in working with Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods following their WWE departure, pitching a one-night-only trios team with a memorable name.
Posting on X on May 13, Kross responded to a tweet hoping for a match between himself and the wrestler formerly known as Xavier Woods, pivoting instead to suggest a three-man combination.
“What about a one night only trios tag team with Kofi and Austin Creed? The New Doomsday,” Kross wrote.
The New Doomsday name plays on Kingston and Woods’ New Day branding while incorporating Kross’s long-established Doomsday character, creating a mashup that immediately caught fans’ attention online.
Kross himself is familiar with being asked to restructure a WWE deal, having previously claimed he was given only one day to decide on a contract offer. He and Kingston and Woods are all subject to 90-day non-compete clauses before they can work for major promotions, though indie appearances may be possible on a different timeline depending on the specific terms of their agreements.
The pitch is the latest in a growing list of public expressions of interest from across the wrestling world. The Young Bucks, FTR, Bobby Lashley, Swerve Strickland, Will Ospreay, MJF, and now Killer Kross have all made their desire to work with Kingston and Woods known in some capacity since the news of their WWE exit broke earlier this month.
