CM Punk has been pulled from WWE’s advertising for the company’s upcoming European Summer Tour, the latest sign that his ongoing television absence may stretch deeper into the summer than originally planned.
Punk was previously listed as an advertised name for the full overseas run, which begins May 28 in Liverpool, England and continues through the June 22 episode of Monday Night RAW at The O2 in London. He has now been quietly removed from only the house show portion of the tour and not all the RAW episodes while the company is in the UK.
He is still advertised for the July 6 episode of RAW from the Allstate Arena in Chicago, his hometown. From there, he remains on the listings for the July 13 RAW in Dallas, July 20 in Detroit, July 27 in Los Angeles, and August 3 in Des Moines.
Punk has not been on WWE television since the April 20 edition of RAW, the night after he lost the World Heavyweight Championship to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 42. That episode ended with a face-to-face segment between Punk and Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes that teased a future program. Nothing has been built on it since.
PWInsider reported that Punk was not backstage at WWE Backlash in Tampa last Saturday, and was not expected at the May 11 RAW in Knoxville either. He was heavily speculated as a possible mystery partner for Danhausen at Backlash after commentary teased that Danhausen’s eventual partner would be someone who “loves money.” That didn’t happen.
Punk himself said on the RAW after WrestleMania that he was not taking a vacation. The advertising changes suggest otherwise.
