Kurt Angle’s big secret was finally revealed on this week’s episode of WWE Monday Night Raw. As expected, they made people wait until the third hour (just after 10 pm eastern, to be exact) for the “big reveal.”
Earlier in the show, they showed Angle and Corey Graves backstage. Angle was having second thoughts but Graves convinced him that he had to come clean because his secret would eventually get out on social media. Angle said that he and the other party involved were grateful to have a friend like Graves. That segment was meant to rule out Graves as being the mystery person.
Just after 10 pm eastern, Angle went out to the ring and apologized to the fans for being a distraction during these last few weeks. He said that an action from his past changed his life and has a serious consequence. He said that he was afraid because he thought that it would hurt his family that his family is supporting him 100%. He said that WWE is also 100% supportive. He said that he dated a young lady in college and recently he found out that she gave birth 9 months after their last date to a baby boy. Angle said that he was not aware of this and the boy was put up for adoption and he was taken care of by two loving parents. Angle then introduced his son, Jason Jordan. They never revealed who Jordan’s adopted parents were so, I guess, they could bring that up at a later time if they want to extend this storyline.
All of this explains why Jordan’s role on WWE TV has been downplayed on TV and why Chad Gable has moved on as a singles superstar. WWE is hoping for a huge ratings boost for this week’s show. In theory, given the amount of hype and social media buzz going into this week’s episode, this should be among the highest rated episodes of the year.
