AJ Lee Confirms Participation In WWE Project

AJ Lee has confirmed that she will appear in an upcoming season of WWE Unreal, the company’s behind-the-scenes docuseries on Netflix. She made the comments in a conversation with Maurice Benard on his State of Mind series.

“I spent the last eight months on Monday Night Raw on Netflix,” Lee said. “I am going to be doing WWE Unreal the documentary series also for Netflix.”

AJ Lee returned to WWE in September 2025 after stepping away from in-ring competition for more than a decade. The comeback came in front of a roaring crowd in Chicago, where she lives with her husband, CM Punk. A record-tying three-time Divas Champion during her original run, she added to her resume after returning by winning the Women’s Intercontinental Championship and feuding with Becky Lynch, the two meeting at WrestleMania 42.

Lee also indicated that fans should not expect to see her on weekly editions of Raw for the time being. Beyond the Unreal appearance, she said she is continuing to write and produce through her company, Scrappy Heart Productions, which is working on its first feature film, along with a slate of other projects.

WWE Unreal first premiered on Netflix in 2025 and has aired two seasons to date. The series pulls back the curtain on how WWE’s storylines and matches come together behind the scenes, giving viewers an unscripted look at the talent and the creative process.
