Logan Paul: Vince McMahon ‘Built Something That He Would Have Died For’

Logan Paul had plenty to say about Vince McMahon during his appearance on WWE’s What’s Your Story? podcast. The episode that dropped on Thursday featured Stephanie McMahon interviewing Paul about his journey from social media influencer to full-time WWE superstar. Among the topics covered was the influence McMahon had on Paul’s understanding of the wrestling business and what it means to build something worth fighting for. Paul said one of the lessons he took from McMahon was a simple one.

“You know what I learned from that, and your dad just in general — it’s all about the show. It’s all about the product. He built something that he would have died for. It was all about entertaining people. I have so much just respect for that,” Paul said.

Paul also reflected on his first meeting with McMahon, during which he spent roughly 15 minutes pitching viral ideas and left unsure whether any of it had registered. Stephanie recalled that McMahon had a similar experience when WWE first began integrating social media, noting that he grasped its importance even when he did not fully understand the mechanics behind it. Paul said that instinct was exactly what made McMahon effective.

“That’s the brilliance of Vince McMahon. We’ve seen that over the years. It’s like, you have this ability to adapt, even if you aren’t entirely sure what’s going on. You rely on people who are experts in a craft. And the WWE and Vince trusted me. I was the last person Vince ever signed, which I thought was really cool,” Paul said.

McMahon resigned from WWE in January 2024 following a lawsuit filed by former employee Janel Grant against him and the company. The still-ongoing suit accuses McMahon of physical and emotional abuse, sexual assault, and sex trafficking.

McMahon was also referenced on this week’s Raw, where CM Punk alluded to him without using his name, describing him as a “weird old man” who once made Roman Reigns eat dog food on SmackDown in 2019.

Paul is set to compete at WrestleMania 42 night one on April 18, teaming with Austin Theory and IShowSpeed against The Usos and LA Knight.
