Mark Henry believes Jacob Fatu may be Roman Reigns’ most dangerous opponent yet, but has flagged one concern about the young star heading into their potential World Heavyweight Championship match at Backlash.
Speaking on Busted Open After Dark following Fatu’s appearance on SmackDown in Fort Worth, Texas, Henry praised Fatu’s promo about reestablishing himself before zeroing in on what he sees as a potential weakness.
“We got to hear Jacob cut a promo about hope. About reestablishing himself and I was all for it. The one thing I have a problem with, and it was one of my problems early in my life: pride. Jacob has got to loosen up with the pride. Anybody listening to this, if you know Jacob personally, you’d tell him that everybody needs help. And Jacob will not allow that yet, he’s too prideful. He seemed very aware and humble and happy, but he’s got that thing man, he’s just not happy until he gets it all. He wanna be the man. Jacob might be the most dangerous person that Roman is gonna face, because Roman has everything to lose and Jacob has everything to gain,” Henry said.
Fatu’s prideful streak was on full display throughout SmackDown, where he refused help from both The Usos and Solo Sikoa’s MFT faction, instead wiping out Sikoa and his entire group single-handedly. Earlier in the night, he cut a promo explaining to The Usos why he wants to go it alone rather than join forces with Reigns and The Bloodline.
Fatu issued his challenge to Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship at Backlash on May 9 in Tampa, Florida on the Raw after WrestleMania 42, following a tense face-off in which Reigns referred to him as his “little cousin.” A definitive answer from Reigns is expected on the April 27 episode of Raw.
