Marty Jannetty is on the road to recovery. The former WWF/WWE star shared an update on Facebook following his recent leg amputation, along with a photo showing him standing on a prosthetic leg during a rehabilitation session.
In the post, Jannetty thanked Brian Blair and the Cauliflower Alley Club for supporting him through his recovery. “They’ve showed me quite a lot of love and compassion for my situation. Without their help I don’t think I would’ve gotten through this very tough time in my life,” Jannetty wrote. He noted that “insurance only covers so much,” and added that if there is ever anything he can do for the organization in return, “I’m there.”
The Cauliflower Alley Club is a nonprofit organization that provides financial and personal assistance to wrestlers in need. Blair, a former WWF star best known as one half of The Killer Bees, serves as the club’s president.
Jannetty, 66, underwent a below-the-knee amputation on April 1, 2026. His family confirmed the procedure in a statement in May, explaining that the surgery was performed by Dr. Leland McCluskey, who successfully removed all infected bone, and that Jannetty was focused on recovery, pain management, and long-term healing.
The amputation followed years of health problems with his leg and ankle. Jannetty dealt with ankle issues throughout his career and underwent ankle reconstruction surgery in 2020, which led to complications, including a staph infection after multiple procedures. In January 2024, he revealed on Facebook that doctors had told him his leg would eventually need to be amputated.
Jannetty rose to fame alongside Shawn Michaels as The Rockers, winning the AWA World Tag Team Championship twice before the duo joined the WWF in 1988 and became one of the most popular teams in the company. Following the team’s famous split in the 1992 Barbershop segment, Jannetty defeated Michaels for the WWF Intercontinental Championship in May 1993 and won the WWF Tag Team Championship with the 1-2-3 Kid in January 1994. He was in and out of WWE in the late 90’s with a brief stint in WCW. In the mid 2000’s, he and Shawn Michaels reunited as The Rockers on an episode of Raw.
