Matt Riddle made some interesting comments while doing a recent interview with Bleacher Report and took some shots at WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
Riddle was asked about the success of last Saturday’s SummerSlam in Las Vegas as it broke several records. He stated that he thinks RK-Bro played a factor in that but disagreed with Reigns taking credit for all of the success as he main evented the show in a match with John Cena for the title on the line. Many considered this to be one of the biggest matches the company could book at this time.
Riddle started out by stating that Reigns taking credit for it is no different from people saying they’re a good parent. He thinks if that’s true then your kids would tell you that. Riddle then played off a comment that Reigns made about CM Punk where he noted the former WWE Champion wasn’t as over as The Rock or John Cena for the company when he was on top.
“When he’s saying ‘Acknowledge me’ or ‘I move the needle,’ no, you don’t. You’re related to The Rock. Shut up. Like, I’m not impressed, I can beat you up in a real fight. So, shut your mouth. You’re not moving needles. I’m the real stallion, RK-Bro is moving the merch, we’re moving the needle, and that’s it. I don’t want to say too much, I’m not trying to get in trouble. Hey, hats off to him. He’s amazing at what he does. I do like what he does, but at the same time, it’s like, get off your high horse. You’re in that spot for a reason. You’re not a bro. You’re second generation. I’m first generation.”
Riddle also talked about teaming with Randy Orton, Brock Lesnar, and more. Check out the full interview here.
