Mason Rook is using the same WWE entrance theme as former WWE star Mason Ryan, a connection several fans have pointed out on social media this week.
The track, titled “Grizzly” and produced by Peter Jay Jordan, originally served as the entrance theme for Mason Ryan, the Welsh-born wrestler whose real name is Barri Griffiths. Ryan spent the bulk of his WWE run between the main roster and WWE NXT before leaving the company in 2014. He has since worked as a Cirque du Soleil performer, playing the role of Chief Archer in the company’s KÀ show in Las Vegas.
Mason Rook, real name William Walker and formerly known on the British independent scene as Will Kroos, made his WWE NXT debut on the April 28, 2026 episode, attacking WWE NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo with a top rope moonsault. The 29-year-old English wrestler signed his NXT contract on the May 12, 2026 episode and has been positioned as a challenger for D’Angelo’s title.
At the WWE Performance Center, fans have begun reciting his Will Kroos chant from the UK indie scene: “He’s big, he’s bad, he’ll bodyslam your dad.” The chant followed him into his contract signing on May 12, where the crowd recited it both before he spoke and after he signed.
John Cena has publicly endorsed Rook on social media. After the April 28 debut, Cena posted the “He’s big, he’s bad, he’ll bodyslam your dad” line, and Rook quote-tweeted it. Cena posted the chant again following Rook’s second appearance, with Rook quote-tweeting once more.
Rook addressed the Cena shoutouts during his contract signing promo, calling himself not just the best super heavyweight but the best “any-weight.”
Online response has been mixed. Some fans have compared his style to Keith Lee and pointed to his agility relative to his 6-foot-4 frame. Others have criticized his physique or the name change from Will Kroos.
Before joining WWE, Walker wrestled as Will Kroos on the British independent scene since 2017, working extensively for Progress Wrestling in the UK and Pro Wrestling NOAH in Japan. He was Progress Atlas Champion prior to his WWE signing.
Rook is scheduled to team with Kam Hendrix against Tony D’Angelo and Tavion Heights on the next episode of WWE NXT.
