Newly signed WWE star Matt Riddle takes a shot at former UFC employer Dana White

There’s a lot of bad blood between newly signed WWE star Matt Riddle and his former employer at the UFC, Dana White.

Riddle previously competed in mixed martial arts (MMA) from 2008 to 2013, fighting under the UFC’s banner. He built up a record of 8-3-2 as a professional. The 2 in his record stands for “No Contest.” Riddle initially won both of those fights, however, he tested positive for marijuana both times in the span of seven months. As a result, the wins were overturned.

After his last failed drug test, the UFC made the decision to cut Riddle loose. He had one more fight under the Titan Fighting Championship banner, which he won via second-round submission, before transitioning to pro wrestling.

In 2013 UFC president Dana White gave an interview to UFC on FOX about Riddle. He blasted the former welterweight for his marijuana use:

“Well, guess what dummy? They drug test in the real world, too. You think you’re going to work 325 days a year and not get drug tested?

“He couldn’t pass a drug test three times a year, but he’s going to pass it in the real world? And I want to know where this rocket scientist is going to make one-hundred and something thousand dollars a year?”

In 2015, Riddle made an appearance on the Dobashi’s Radio Takedown podcast to talk about his experience in the UFC. He had some harsh words for White:

“Dana White’s a b—-. He knows he’s a b—-. He was born a b—-. That’s why his mom named him Dana,” Riddle said. “It really don’t matter. I know he ain’t going to hire me back—I don’t want that job.

“I’m going to run s— in the WWE. If they don’t hire me, I’m going to run s— in TNA. If they don’t hire me, I’m going to run s— in New Japan. If they don’t hire me, I’ll f—— find somewhere else and I’ll still make a living.”

This morning (Sat. September 8, 2018) Riddle Tweeted out a clip of the video above and added a caption to it. He called the UFC boss a “dummy”:

“Hey Dana remember that time you fired me and talked all that shit on me to the world and called me a loser? I just wanted to say thank you for everything dummy”
