It doesn’t look like The Undertaker has any immediate plans to retire. In fact, he is scheduled for the Super Show-Down pay-per-view taking place in October and he could be back much sooner. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that there has been talk within WWE about Taker wrestling at SummerSlam.
The Taker vs. John Cena rematch rumors started a couple of months ago when Cena did an interview talking about his quick loss at WrestleMania. Cena insinuated that he was not prepared to jump in the ring right away and that gave Taker the advantage. The match with Taker was meant to “reintroduce” The Deadman because he has been portrayed as an over-the-hill wrestler that is beat up due to various injuries.
For whatever it’s worth, people that know Taker say that he is feeling better these days than he has in many years. That is likely because he got the much-needed hip replacement surgery. He may be limited in the bumps he can take but he is in great shape and there hasn’t been any talk about retirement.
